Naugatuck Crash Leads To Fire At Mario's Pizza: Police
The single vehicle crash happened on Cherry Street early Saturday morning, police said.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A car crash into a utility pole resulted in a fire erupting at Mario's Pizza in Naugatuck early Saturday morning, police said.
Police said that around 2:05 a.m., a Toyota Scion going southbound on Cherry Street failed to negotiate a curve. According to police, the car crashed into a guide wire and utility police, which led to the fire at Mario's Pizza.
Surrounding buildings had to be evacuated and there were power outages in the area, police said.

Crews continued to work into the day to restore power and repair the damage.
The driver of the Toyota was evaluated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries and there were no other reported injuries, police said.
