Naugatuck Fire Now Hiring For Firefighter, Fire Dispatcher Positions
The Naugatuck Fire Department is now accepting applications for firefighter and fire dispatcher positions. Here's how to apply.
NAUGATUCK, CT β The Naugatuck Fire Department is now accepting applications for firefighter and fire dispatcher positions.
According to the department's Facebook page, firefighter applicants must be CT certified FF2 and live in a town within 10 miles of Naugatuck (list on application) and CPAT within two years of job offer.
The Naugatuck Fire Department responds to approximately 1,400 calls per year and is not an EMS provider, according to the department.

The process is written exam and oral board later this summer, the department noted.
Dispatcher applicants must have fire dispatching or fire fighter experience, no exceptions, according to the department.

Fire only dispatch position assigned to one of the four shifts; work 24 hours on, 72 hours off. Schedule has 24 hours of overtime built in every month, according to the department.
The department also noted there is a possibility this position may combine with police dispatch in the next two years. This is subject to negotiation between the borough, fire union and police dispatcher union.
The process is resume review and oral board later this summer, according to the department.
"We anticipate two dispatcher vacancies this summer and at least four fire fighter vacancies by the end of the year," the department said on Facebook. "Employee benefits include family medical and dental starting on day 1 and contribution to a defined contribution plan starting at 8 percent of salary. Both positions are in Naugatuck Professional Firefighters - IAFF Local 1219.
