Obituary: Thomas G. Stabler, 58 of Naugatuck

Tom worked many years for Sikorsky and Redman's Trailers. He was also a volunteer for the Stratfield Volunteer Fire Dept. in Fairfield.

NAUGATUCK, CT - (From Pistey Funeral Home) Thomas G. Stabler, age 58 of Naugatuck, husband of 21 years to Dawn (Miller) Stabler, passed away on November 26, 2021.

Tom was born in Bridgeport to Audrey (Howie) Stabler and the late George A. Stabler. He graduated from Kolbe Cathedral High School in Bridgeport and earned his bachelor’s degree from Albertus Magnus College.

Tom worked at Sikorsky for 28 years.

He was also employed by Redman’s Trailers in Bristol.

Tom volunteered with the Stratfield Volunteer Fire Dept., Fairfield and taught CPR training courses.

He was also a Boy Scout Leader and a member of the Senior “R” club. Tom was an avid camper and enjoyed traveling with the camping club and going out fishing.

His team was the NY Giants and he was also a big NASCAR fan.

In addition to his wife, Dawn Stabler of Naugatuck, and mother, Audrey Stabler of Bridgeport, Tom is survived by his son, Alex Stabler of Naugatuck; his sister, Deborah Rapoport of Milford; father-in-law, Paul Miller, Sr. of Naugatuck; brother-in-law, Paul Miller, Jr. of Naugatuck; nieces, Melanie and Larissa Rapoport and Rachel Bronco; nephew, Phillip Miller; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Tom was predeceased by his father, George A. Stabler.The funeral will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 10:30 am at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford, officiated by V. Rev. John Jillions.

Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home with panikhida prayer service at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tom’s memory to the charity of one's choice.
