Possibly Abandoned Dog Found, Cat Killed By Vehicle In Naugatuck: Animal Control

Animal Control officials said the dog is microchipped and noted "yes, we have contacted [the owner] and will attempt to find you."

NAUGATUCK, CT — A possibly abandoned dog was found and a cat was killed by a vehicle this week in Naugatuck, according to Animal Control.

According to the Naugatuck Animal Control Facebook page, a male pit bull named "Oreo" was found Tuesday on Gorman Street.

Animal Control also noted the dog is microchipped and seemingly directed a message at the owner: "yes, we have contacted you and will attempt to find you."

"If this is your dog and you abandoned him, please contact our department so we can get more information from you to ensure we find him a better home," the post reads.

In addition to finding Oreo, Animal Control also noted a large domestic long hair gray and white cat wearing a PetSafe electric collar was hit and killed on Route 8 by Cross Street in Naugatuck.
