Teen Accused Of Burglarizing 2 Businesses: Naugatuck Police

Cash and merchandise were taken from both locations, police said​.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A 19-year-old Derby resident is accused of committing two burglaries in Naugatuck police said.

Police said they have made an arrest in the commercial burglaries of NaugyStop - 801 Rubber Avenue and Citgo - 800 New Haven Road.

During the early morning of May 17, police responded to NaugyStop and Citgo and discovered the stores burglarized, police said. Cash and merchandise were taken from both locations, police said.

Detectives reviewed surveillance footage and analyzed physical evidence, ultimately determining that the suspect, Collin Howard, 19, of Derby, and the vehicle used in the crimes were connected to both locations, police said.

On Dec. 12, police served an arrest warrant on Collin at Waterbury Court, who is being held on other charges, police said.

Howard was charged with several counts of third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and second-degree criminal mischief. Police said they cannot rule out additional arrests at this time.
