Waterbury Police ID Suspect In Fatal Hit-And-Run; Seek Tips
The suspect is a 24-year-old local resident, according to police.

WATERBURY, CT — Police are searching for a local man wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident which killed a pedestrian in October.
Police announced Monday they have identified the suspect as Jesus Gavidia-Vivas, 24, of Waterbury.
The police department’s Traffic Services Unit is actively searching for Gavidia-Vivas, and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.

Tipsters should call Waterbury’s Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 203-755-1234 or crash investigators at 203-346-3975.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Police Sgt. Joseph Morais said the accident happened around 10:19 p.m. on Oct. 22 on Wolcott Street.
The pedestrian was discovered in the roadway, and the motorist had fled the scene, according to police.
The victim, a 74-year-old man, was rushed to an area hospital for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries on Oct. 23, police said.
