2 New Entries Join Connecticut Field Hockey Top 10 Poll

CONNECTICUT — The top three teams from last week's Connecticut high school field hockey coaches poll remained intact, and two new entries cracked the top 10 in the latest balloting.

New Canaan remained the unanimous top choice, followed by Darien and Hall. State tournament competition begins next week.

Here are the top 10, with last week's ranking in parentheses, as well as all other schools receiving votes.

5. Valley Regional (lw: 7)
6. Staples (lw: 4)
7. Cheshire (lw: 8)
8. Wethersfield (lw: 6)

10. Glastonbury (lw: NR)

Also receiving votes: Ridgefield, Greenwich, Pomperaug, Joel Barlow.
