New Canaan Police Seek ID Of Bicyclist Taken To Hospital After 'Medical Emergency': UPDATE

Police are asking for help identifying a bicyclist who "suffered a medical emergency" in New Canaan and was taken to a hospital.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Police are asking for help identifying a bicyclist who suffered a medical emergency in New Canaan and was taken to a hospital Tuesday night, according to police.

In an updated news release Wednesday afternoon, Police Capt. Joseph Farenga described the bicyclist as a man approximately 50-60 years old with a large build.

The man was wearing a red helmet and a blue shirt while riding a gray DEAN brand road bicycle, according to Farenga.

Police Lt. Marc DeFelice said officers were called to the area of Richmond Hill Road around 9:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a bicyclist suffering from a medical emergency.

Police and emergency medical services crews provided medical care to the man, who was then taken to Norwalk Hospital, DeFelice said.

According to DeFelice, the medical emergency "was not a result of a motor vehicle accident."
