Boston Bruins Honor Teddy Balkind In Pregame Ceremony
The Bruins hung a Teddy Balkind jersey behind their bench and honored the late New Canaan teenager in a pregame ceremony on Wednesday.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The Boston Bruins honored Teddy Balkind during a ceremony before a game against the visiting Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night.
The New Canaan teenager died last week after sustaining an injury during a high school hockey game between St. Luke's School and Brunswick School in Greenwich.
"This past Thursday, the hockey community suffered a heartbreaking loss, as St. Luke's School 10th-grader Teddy Balkind tragically passed away at just 16 years old. A beloved teammate and incredible young man, he was a friend to many in the New Canaan, CT, community," said Bruins Public Address announcer John Dolan.

"Teddy will be remembered for his infectious smile as well as his love and passion for the game of hockey. The Bruins organization joins the greater hockey community in offering our thoughts and prayers to Teddy's friends, teammates and the Balkind family."
The crowd then took part in a moment of silence.

Before the game, Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron hung a Balkind No. 5 hockey jersey behind the Bruins bench.
