Chabad New Canaan Jewish Center to Host a Gala Dinner
Karp families will be honored for their support of New Canaan's Jewish community.

The Chabad New Canaan Jewish Center will host a Gala Dinner to celebrate the Center’s fifth anniversary, recognize a New Canaan family’s critical support and commemorate the history of the New Canaan Jewish community.
Rabbi Levi Mendelow is the co-director of the Chabad New Canaan Jewish Center.
He said, “This is an opportunity for the Jewish community to celebrate the growing visibility and vitality of Jewish life in New Canaan.”

The Gala will be held on the evening of May 28 at the Waveny House. It will honor New Canaan residents Douglas and Sharon Karp, and Arnold and Lisa Karp, along with their families for the support they have provided to the Center.
Michal Mendelow, the co-director of the Center, said the Gala will also be an opportunity to showcase the widened range of Jewish initiatives that are now available at New Canaan, including Shabbat services, Passover Seders and more.

“Judaism in New Canaan comes in all shapes, sizes and affiliations,” Rabbi Mendelow said. “We thank God that in this wonderful community we can live peacefully, actively and joyously as Jews, and come together to partake of our rich and enduring tradition.”
