Commission Proposes Fee Increases at New Canaan Parking Lots
The New Canaan Parking Commission unanimously voted to recommend increase fees at town-owned parking lots; the Board of Selectmen decides.
The New Canaan Parking Commission unanimously voted to recommend increasing annual permit fees at town-owned parking lots by various amounts, according to a report in the New Canaanite news website.
Most of the fee increases were 2.8 percent or 3 percent, but the Center School lot (the least expensive in town, at $120) was raised the most, by 10 percent. (See second illustration for a table of the fees and proposed increases.)
Fees for the Locust Lot were left unchanged because Parking Commission members were unsure about how employee parking would be handled when Town Hall is reoccupied this year after renovation work. The commission met on March 12.
