Name of the person who nominated the hero:
Stefanie Lister

Is the nominee considered an “essential worker”?:
No

What does the nominee do for work?:
Housewives and Mothers

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Because these two women have taken a simple Facebook Mom group platform called New Canaan Moms and have used it to coordinate great acts of kindness and generosity. Through their leadership, they created a system that would not only help local businesses but also the those who need it most in one swoop. The New Canaan Moms Group raises money among themselves to purchase large quantities of gift cards/services/food from a local business. These businesses often match the purchase amount as a donation and they deliver these as gifts to the essential workers and community members who need some extra help during these times. The moment they saw the need, they sprung to action and haven't stopped. The letters pour in thanking the group and it makes us happy every time they post pictures of the fruits of our donations. They have given all of us who feel a little helpless an amazing outlet to make a difference and keep the town thriving both financially and emotionally.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
They are the glue that holds the community together
