Extended Road Closure Announced In New Canaan

NEW CANAAN, CT — Town officials have announced an upcoming extended road closure.

"South Avenue will be closed to all but local traffic and emergency vehicles between Farm Road and Harrison Avenue from June 19 (the day after school ends) to the day before school starts again in August. This will allow for Aquarion Water Company's installation of a new 36-inch water main running from Wilton to Greenwich. Hours of construction are daily 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Detours around the work will be posted. The project is expected to run for two consecutive summers," local officials announced.
