NEW CANAAN, CT — A fire that broke out in the attic of a New Canaan home Friday night was quickly extinguished, according to the New Canaan Fire Department.

In a news release, Fire Chief Albe Bassett said crews were called to a house on Ramhorne Road around 9 p.m. where a fire was found burning in the home's attic.

Firefighters removed the sheet rock on the ceiling and cut a couple of holes in the roof to completely extinguish the fire in the blown in insulation, Bassett said.
