Halo Studios Presents 'Wellness Wednesday' Lecture Series
"Wellness Wednesdays," an afternoon lecture series which will be free and open to the public, beginning Wednesday, March 23.

NEW CANAAN, CT, — Halo Studios, the one-year-old health and wellness center in downtown New Canaan, is launching “Wellness Wednesdays,” an afternoon lecture series which will be free and open to the public, beginning Wednesday, March 23.
“It has always been our intent to empower people in our community to lead healthier and more balanced lives and Wellness Wednesdays is one more way we can do that,” says Halo Studios Director, Cindy Ziegler.

“We consider education about wellness to be a critical path to actually achieving it,” says Ziegler, “so we are honored to be hosting these esteemed experts and thrilled to be able to offer this important lecture series to the community.”

Nina Manipon of Revitalize Wellness Center

Naturopathic Medicine is a distinct system of primary healthcare that addresses the root cause of a patient's condition and promotes health and healing using natural therapies instead of just focusing on symptomatic treatment. Naturopathic doctors educate and empower patients to become passionate about their personal journey towards optimal health, with a strong emphasis on prevention, diet and nutrition. Free blood pressure checks will be available after the talk.
Stress Reduction for the Mind and Body

Dr. Katie will talk about her Ways to Wellness and proper stress management, including tips for balancing nutrition, sleep, and exercise as well as easy meditation techniques to harmonize mind and body.
Eating & Living to Reduce Inflammation and Disease: Comprehensive Nutrition
Loryn Galardi, MS, Clinical Nutritionist

Persistent, chronic inflammation is at the root of almost every illness from arthritis to asthma, weight gain to heart disease and diabetes to dementia. Illness and inflammation is not inevitable, no matter what age you are, according to Ms. Galardi, who will talk about what lifestyle and dietary steps you can take to reduce the inflammation in your body and, therefore, your risk of disease. A Question & Answer session will follow the presentation.
Mindfulness and Stress Reduction

The Community Mindfulness Project is a secular meditation group, dedicated to the study and practice of a variety of mindfulness and heart-opening practices that are highly accessible to people of all religious backgrounds. The benefits of meditation include improved emotional regulation, focus, resilience, compassion, and mental and physical health. CMP’s teachings draw from a variety of traditions.
All lectures are on Wednesdays from 1 to 2 pm, and will take place at Halo Studios, Studio C, 45 Grove Street, New Canaan, CT. (Underneath the New Canaan Racquet Club.) Talks are one hour in length, free and open to the public. Advance registration is not required, just drop in.
