Lilacs and peonies have been popular flowers to order for Mother's Day this year, Vineyard Gardens owner Kathryn Blankenship said.
"That's what people are asking for," she said. "They tend to bloom in this area right around now."
The New Norwalk Road florist is still taking orders for Mother's Day flowers and will be open through Saturday for last-minute customers.
"We'll have as many plants pre-dressed and ready to go as we can,"Blankenship said, but cautioned that stragglers should make sure not to wait too long:
"Our job is to run out."
Vineyard Gardens will be delivering flowers on Sunday.
