Local Food Blogger Participates in Culinary Think Tank in California
New Canaan's Jeanette Chen and Greg Yep recently participated in PepsiCo's Culinary Exploration Workshop. The goal was to bring together top culinary minds to create flavorful dishes that are low in salt and low and low in fat.

New Canaan residents Jeanette Chen and Greg Yep recently participated in a unique collaboration among a kitchen full of chefs and representatives of PepsiCo.
The event was billed as the "Culinary Exploration Workshop" and was held at the Culinary Institute of America Greystone in California.
Chen, who writes the blog "Jeanette's Healthy Living," was featured in an article about the event in the New York Times. The overall goal of the collaboration was to bring together top culinary minds to create flavorful dishes low in both salt and low and fat. Toward that end, the culinary think tank yielded some novel techniques.
Fellow participant Greg Yep of New Canaan, a Sr. Vice President of Long Term Research with PepsiCo, the workshop sponsor, described the event as "a one-of-a-kind culinary exploration workshop where we partner with the Culinary Institute of America and leading chefs around the world."

Chen, who publishes healthy recipes on her blog follows this motto: "Every recipe has to taste great – to be eaten, not left untouched, appeal to the eye (hopefully make your mouth water), and provide the nutrients your bodies need."
