NEW CANAAN, CT — Attorneys for Michelle Troconis, the woman convicted last year in the disappearance and death of Jennifer Farber Dulos, have filed a 1,000-page motion seeking to overturn the decision, WTNH-TV reported.

Troconis is currently serving a 14-and-a-half-year prison sentence, after her conviction on six counts:

  • Conspiracy to commit murder
  • Conspiracy to tamper with evidence
  • Tampering with physical evidence (2 counts)
  • Conspiracy to commit to tampering with physical evidence
  • Hindering prosecution

The appeal reportedly argues that prosecutors did not directly tie Troconis to Dulos' disappearance and death, nor did they prove that Troconis knew of the alleged actions of the late Fotis Dulos, Jennifer's estranged husband who was charged with murder and kidnapping in the case.

Jennifer Dulos, a mother of five, vanished from her New Canaan home on May 24, 2019, and is presumed to be dead. Her body has not been found.

The Duloses were embroiled in a contentious divorce and child custody battle at the time of her disappearance, and prosecutors believe Fotis Dulos kidnapped and killed her. He never stood trial, because he took his own life in January 2020.
