NEW CANAAN, CT — A French Bulldog that was inside a car stolen from New Canaan last week has been reunited with her owner, according to police.

In an email Tuesday, Police Lt. Marc DeFelice said "Poppy" has been found and safely reunited with her owner.

The unoccupied Range Rover was left running with the keys inside, and a brown French Bulldog named Poppy was inside the vehicle at the time of the theft, according to DeFelice.

Officers arrived in the area and tried to stop the stolen vehicle, which left town at a high rate of speed and entered the Merritt Parkway northbound at Exit 38, DeFelice said.
