New Canaan CARES to host Mattering in the Modern World: The Secret to Unlocking Deeper Connections & Purpose
A free community featuring best-selling author Jennifer Wallace in conversation with the host of the popular podcast Kelly Corrigan Wonders.

New Canaan CARES has announced that registration is now open for its free Fall Community Program, “Mattering in the Modern World: The Secret to Unlocking Deeper Connections and Purpose.” The event will feature best-selling author Jennifer Wallace in conversation with Kelly Corrigan, host of the popular podcast Kelly Corrigan Wonders.
The program is scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, at 7:00 PM at Saxe Middle School.
During the event, Wallace will share insights drawn from six years of research on how the concept of mattering—helping people feel seen, valued, and essential—supports well-being, resilience, and meaningful connections. With guidance from Corrigan, the conversation will focus on practical strategies for incorporating mattering into daily life while navigating stress, burnout, and periods of transition.

“This is an uplifting evening that highlights the power of purpose and connection,” said a CARES Executive Director, Colleen Prostor. “We invite community members to join us for this special community conversation and learn ways to strengthen relationships and support each other.”
