New Canaan Collecting Back To School, Food Pantry Donations

New Canaan Human Services is currently collecting donations for students headed back to school soon and for the town's food pantry.

NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan Human Services is currently collecting donations for students headed back to school soon and for the town's food pantry.

According to the town's Facebook page, Human Services is seeking residents' generous support as the town gears up for the start of the new school year to ensure every child starts the year off right and no family goes hungry.

"Your contributions can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need," the post reads. "Whether it's a monetary donation, a Walmart gift card or non-perishable food items, every little bit helps. Let's come together to support our community and make this season brighter for everyone."

Anyone who wants to make a monetary donation or donate a Walmart gift card is asked to drop it off at Human Services, located at 77 Main Street, between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 3 p.m.

A list of needed food pantry items can be found at www.newcanaan.info under the "food pantry" tab.

Food donations can be dropped off at the pantry, located at St. Mark's Church on Oenoke Ridge, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
