New Canaan Election Results 2025: Projected Winners Revealed In Key Races
New Canaan residents cast their ballots for several key local races on Election Day. Here are the latest results.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Incumbent Republican First Selectman Dionna Carlson was reelected to another term after running unopposed in Tuesday's municipal election.
Other uncontested races for this election cycle include Board of Selectmen (Amy Murphy Carrol, a Democrat, and Steve Karl, a Republican), town clerk (Claudia Weber, a Republican) and town treasurer (Andrew Brooks).
According to preliminary results provided by the town early Wednesday morning, Board of Education candidates received the following votes:

- Kate Brambilla (Democrat): 3,324 votes
- Erica Schwedel (Democrat): 3,427 votes
- Joshua Kaye (Democrat): 3,317 votes
- Hugo Alves (Republican): 3,296 votes
- Phil Hogan (Republican): 3,201 votes
- Julie Toal (Republican): 3,168 votes
- Giacomo Landi (Write In): 145 votes
According to preliminary results provided by the town early Wednesday morning, Town Council candidates received the following votes:
- Hilary Ormond (Democrat): 3,284 votes
- Michael Rodgers (Democrat): 3,143 votes
- Lina Lee (Democrat): 3,091 votes
- Heather Russell (Democrat): 3,126 votes
- Arvind Bajaj (Republican): 3,003 votes
- Pavla Levin (Republican): 2,933 votes
- Scott Gress (Republican): 3,032 votes
- Penny Young (Republican): 3,174 votes
- Kimberly Norton (Republican): 3,238 votes

While releasing the preliminary results, town officials also noted "there will be some amendments [Wednesday] with a few adjustments."

First Selectman, Vote for One:
The Republican candidate is Dionna Carlson.
Selectmen, Vote for One:
The Democratic candidate is Amy Murphy Carrol and the Republican candidate is Steve Karl.
Town Clerk, Vote for One:
The Republican candidate is Claudia Weber.
Town Treasurer, Vote for One:
The Republican candidate is Andrew Brooks.
Board of Education, Vote for Up to Five:
The Democratic candidates are Kate Brambilla, Erica Schwedel and Joshua Kaye, and the Republican candidates are Hugo Alves, Phil Hogan and Julie Toal.
Board of Assessment Appeals, Vote for Up to Two:
The Democratic candidate is John Matz and the Republican candidates are Kevin McIntosh and Tony Calanca.
Councilmen, Vote for Up to Six:
The Democratic candidates are Hilary Ormond, Michael Rodgers, Lina Lee and Heather Russell, and the Republican candidates are Arvind Bajaj, Pavla Levin, Scott Gress, Penny Young and Kimberly Norton.
Constables, Vote for Up to Four:
The Democratic candidates are Edward Vollmer, Kristen Mitrakis and Susan Edmands, and the Republican candidates are Jill Guzzetti, Alberto Gonzalez, Greg Pepe and Bob Naughton.
