New Canaan Family Fireworks 2024 Passes Now Available For Purchase

NEW CANAAN, CT — Passes for the 43rd annual Family Fireworks Fourth of July celebration in New Canaan are now available for purchase.

According to the town website, gates will swing open at 5 p.m. sharp on July 6, 2024 with rain dates set for July 7 and 13, 2024.

Attendees can enjoy a day packed with family fun, gourmet delights from various food trucks, bouncy houses for the kids and electrifying live music. The tunes kick off with Mind the Gap rocking the stage from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., followed by the vibrant melodies of the Town Band from 7:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. and then breathtaking fireworks.

For safety reasons, dogs, personal drones, grills, candles, personal fireworks and sparklers are not permitted.

To ensure smooth entry, all vehicles must use the South Avenue entrance to Waveny Park. Lapham Road will be closed to traffic, according to the town.

Residents are asked to remember to prominently display their entrance pass on the driver's side dashboard for easy verification. Pedestrians holding passes should access the park only from the high school parking area.

Entrance passes are mandatory for all attendees, whether arriving by car or on foot, according to the town.

Passes are available for purchase at the specified locations for $35 per car or family. Kindly note that this event is exclusively for New Canaan residents, and non-resident passes will not be sold this year, according to the town.

All passes sold at the Steve Benko Pool cost $40 per car. Entrance passes can be obtained:

• Online: June 1-21, 2024, to purchase your 2024 entrance passes. All online purchases will have passes mailed directly to your address. Online sales will cease on June 21 to allow ample time for mailing.
• In-Person: Purchase your New Canaan resident entrance passes at the following locations starting June 3:
  • Parks & Recreation Department in Waveny House at 677 South Ave (available until July 3).
  • Walter Stewart’s Market at 229 Elm Street (available until July 3).
  • Steve Benko Pool, Waveny Park - available only on Saturday, July 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. ($40 per pass). Please ensure you have proof of residency when purchasing passes in person.
