On Monday, July 15 just before 5:00pm, firefighters reported to 182 Main Street for a report of a structure fire. Firefighters arrived at AC Auto Body & Mechanical Services to see smoke coming out of a small garage used for emissions testing.
The fire is reported to have started under the hood of the vehicle being tested. The fire quickly spread to the insulation of the small garage but was immediately extinguished by firefighters.
NC Fire Chief Jack Hennessey was the command at the scene.
No injuries were reported. The New Canaan Fire Marshals’ Office will be following up with an investigation.
