New Canaan Halloween Block Party To Feature Dog Parade
The popular "Howl-o-ween Dog Parade" will kick off the New Canaan Halloween Block Party this month.
NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Halloween Block Party returns later this month, featuring the popular "Howl-o-ween Dog Parade" to kick off the annual favorite event.
According to a news release provided by Rock Paper Scissors Custom Events, the block party is scheduled to take place Oct. 26 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
The dog parade will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m., during which 25 pre-registered pups will gather at The Pop-Up Park on South Avenue for check-in before strutting their spooky or silly stuff for a panel of expert judges.

Homemade costumes are highly encouraged and creativity is always rewarded, according to the release.
This year's guest judges include Kristen Schilo and Alex Gaudet. Spectators are invited to cheer on their favorite four-legged contestants, according to the release.

The event is produced by Rachel Lampen of Rock Paper Scissors Custom Events in partnership with the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce.
Prizes are provided by Pet Pantry, and sponsorship comes from Room for Paws Pet Resort.
