New Canaan High School To Host Weeklong Safe Driving Week Event, Crash Reenactment: Police

New Canaan High School will host a special week that brings attention to distracted driving and culminate with a crash reenactment.

NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan High School will host a special safe driving week later this month to bring attention to distracted driving, from texting to driving under the influence, according to police.

In a news release, police said the weeklong event will take place April 21-25 and culminate with a motor vehicle crash reenactment at the school April 25 beginning at 11 a.m.

New Canaan High School SRO Officer Shane Gibson will facilitate this initiative along with NCPD school resource officers, the department's Youth Services Division and many of their patrol officers, according to police.

Police also thanked the staff at NCHS, as well as the New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the town's fire, highway and parks and recreation departments, for their continued support to help make this annual initiative a success.
