New Canaan Home Recently Rented By Mariah Carey Listed For $13.9M

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 12-bedroom home recently rented out by iconic pop star Mariah Carey and featured in one of her music videos is currently up for sale in New Canaan.

Located at 544 Oenoke Ridge, the 6.25-acre property is listed for $13.9 million unfurnished and $14.5 million furnished, according a property listing from real estate company SERHANT Connecticut.

Danielle Malloy, managing broker and founding partner for SERHANT Connecticut, confirmed to Patch that Carey rented the house for almost two years, paying $75,000 per month, and recently moved out.

Malloy also noted Carey recorded some of her latest album, which has yet to be released but has been teased recently by the singer-songwriter, at the New Canaan house.

In a video, Carey can be seen recording her part for the 2024 remix of Muni Long's single "Made for Me" in different parts of the home.

Carey was also interviewed and photographed with her dogs by Vogue "at her historic house in Connecticut" over the summer.

According to the listing, "Orchard's End" was built in 1929 by New York architect William Tubby, whose "outstanding designs include Waveny House in New Canaan, Dunnellen Hall in Greenwich and the William H. Childs House in Brooklyn."

Features include a massive stone fireplace with intricate carvings, a new kitchen, great room, outdoor courtyard, two gyms/workout rooms, a 14-seat movie theater, sauna, wine cellar, custom pool and spa, water wall, bar, outdoor fireplace, basketball court, yoga studio, fountains and stunning views of the garden terrace, as well as a four-bedroom guest house, according to the listing.

A singer, songwriter, record producer and actress who has been dubbed the "Songbird Supreme" by Guinness World Records, Carey is considered one of the greatest modern singers of all time, with an expansive career dating back to the 1990's.

Carey has recorded a number of influential albums and hit singles over the past three decades, including "Vision of Love," "We Belong Together," "Hero," "Fantasy" and "Heartbreaker," as well as the annual holiday favorite "All I Want for Christmas Is You."
