Located in the heart of midtown Manhattan, Silver Hill New York enables patients with complex needs to receive intensive treatment while maintaining their existing roles and routines, according to Silver Hill.
Every aspect of the program is designed to empower patients by fostering a sense of self, supporting sustainable recovery, and promoting long-term success. It can provide for all of a patient’s clinical needs or work in partnership with existing mental health providers, according to Silver Hill.
By working with patients and their treatment teams to build a customized treatment plan, the program enhances current treatment with Silver Hill New York's best-in-class offerings while coordinating care for patients and families, according to Silver Hill.
"Bringing the expertise of these institutions together reflects our dedication to offering Silver Hill's top-tier mental health and addiction services to patients in NYC," Silver Hill Hospital President and Medical Director Andrew Gerber said in a news release. "Exceptional care extends far beyond brief appointments and cookie-cutter programs that treat all patients the same. By involving a patient’s existing treatment team and collaborating closely with families, our patients receive the ongoing support they need without disrupting the daily rhythms that help them stay active and engaged in their lives."
Patients begin with a thorough two-week assessment period during which a team, led by five psychiatrists, evaluates their specific needs, concerns, and underlying conditions. This detailed evaluation enables Silver Hill New York's clinical team to design personalized treatment plans that align with each patient's goals and circumstances, according to Silver Hill.
Recognizing that mental health and substance use disorder treatment is not one-size-fits-all, Silver Hill New York takes a multi-disciplinary approach, integrating leading evidence-based treatment modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT), Good Psychiatric Management (GPM), and Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy (IHRP). The program provides treatment through individual therapy and group sessions, as well as essential family therapy, crisis management, case management, and 24-hour access to professional support, according to Silver Hill.
"Contemporary mental health treatment requires sophisticated approaches for complex patients with multiple diagnoses," Silver Hill New York Program Director Lindsay Dow said in a news release. "Our program addresses the full spectrum of our patients’ needs through coordinated and targeted treatment plans that consider every aspect of their well-being."
Silver Hill New York's program is designed and supervised by a team of world-renowned experts in the treatment of complex mental health conditions, including Anthony Bateman of the Anna Freud Center and University College London, co-developer of Mentalization Based Therapy, Lois Choi-Kain, MD, of Harvard-McLean, co-developer of Good Psychiatric Management, and Andrew Tatarsky, PhD, developer of Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy, according to Silver Hill.
