Over the years, the event has become a Thanksgiving holiday tradition. Pitting current New Canaan high school players against former Rams, the game serves to sustain the fervent bond formed by playing hockey, as well as to generate fundraising support for the New Canaan Boys hockey program, specifically to cover the escalating cost of renting ice, according to the organization.
Hockey alumni who are interested in playing in the game can email fonchockey@gmail.com. The night will include a postgame gathering at 7:30 p.m. at Waveny House, located at 677 South Avenue in New Canaan.
Anyone interested in making a charitable contribution to the NCHS boys ice hockey program can make a donation to Friends of New Canaan Hockey, P.O. Box 404, New Canaan, CT, 06840 or at FriendsofNCHockey.com.
