New Canaan Property Owner Is Accused of Land Use Violations
The resident reportedly conducted excavation, construction work along Noroton River watershed without the proper permits.

A New Canaan homeowner has been cited by the town for alleged violations of inland wetlands and planning and zoning regulations for construction, excavation and landscaping work that was performed without proper approvals and permits.
The Knapp Lane resident also faces a $1,000 fine and was issued a cease-and-desist order from the town after officials found that he allegedly removed trees, brush, demolished a shed, built a bridge and wall near a pond and brooks that are in the Noroton River watershed on his 1.84-acre property, according to The New Canaanite.
Officials issued the stop work order after discovering the work — that includes building two 40-foot rock walls along the waterway — on Jan. 11.
