New Canaan Restaurant To Host Battle Of The Bands Finale
Gates Restaurant will host a ticketed battle of the bands finale event this weekend.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Gates Restaurant will host a ticketed battle of the bands finale event Saturday, during which four bands will play a 20-minute set beginning at 8 p.m.
According to a news release provided by Rock Paper Scissors Custom Events, special guest judges have been recruited to decide the four bands' fate. This year it is Brooklyn based Paul Green, founder of School of Rock, PG Academy, his wife, Kim France, editor, music writer and author, renowned international author James Frey and local musician Michael Louis-Smith.

"The competing bands work so hard and it’s an important time of year to raise money and encourage community spirit," Organizer Rachel Lampen said in a news release. "It's a huge production and I want to personally thank Todd Grosberg for sound, the judges for giving up their time and to Jen and Jay, owners of Gates Restaurant for putting their trust in me five years ago. Everyone plays an integral part."

Produced by Rock Paper Scissors Custom Events, the event is generously sponsored by Karl Chevrolet. Eight fantastic bands played, however the four finalists include: Pretty Nasty, Mind the Gap, Herman & Co and Rock Paper Soul.
Two bands will be put through and they must play the same song – then the winner is decided. Prize money is $750 with runners up $250.
Gates, which opened in 1979, is an iconic family sports bar and restaurant with live music every Saturday night. Tickets for the 2024 final are $22 per person and available to purchase here.
