New Canaan RTC and New Canaan GOP misleads voters

Town wide mailers omit mention of Republican endorsed candidate Kimberly Norton. NC GOP mailers cuts her name off the ballot.

New Canaan Press Release, October 30, 2025: 5 days before the November 4th General Election

A recent town wide mailer, paid for by the New Canaan Republican Town Committee (RTC) in conjunction with the New Canaan GOP, a Political Action Committee led by Chairman Jonathan Cheng and Treasurer Chris Wilson, have omitted the mention of a Republican Endorsed Candidate Kimberly Norton who will appear on the ballot with the other Republicans running for the hotly contested Town Council seats.

Kimberly gained ballot access after filing a primary petition in early August and receiving 306 signatures of registered Republicans. After being acknowledged as a Nominated and Republican Endorsed candidate by the CT Secretary of State and New Canaan election officials, the RTC decided - 51 – 49 percent - against supporting her candidacy citing the sanctity of the RTC bylaws. Both Mr. Cheng and Mr. Wilson, leaders of the New Canaan GOP, were recent RTC Chairs.

Yesterday the NC GOP sent a town wide mailer showing an image of the ballot with only 4 Republican candidates. They cut Kimberly Norton’s name from the actual ballot in an attempt to mislead voters into thinking she’s not on the ballot.

Working to limit voter choice and misleading voters by presenting images of fake ballots is not in the spirit of a healthy democracy.

In contrast, Kimberly Norton is an honest and transparent leader who does not condone or approve of limiting voter choices.

Please join me in casting one vote for Kim. New Canaan needs her leadership now more than ever.
