The Human Services Department invites residents to spread holiday cheer by creating a festive gift basket for a New Canaan senior this year.
NEW CANAAN, CT — The Human Services Department invites residents to spread holiday cheer by creating a festive gift basket for a New Canaan senior this year.
In a Facebook post, town officials said Human Services is seeking donations of small, personalized baskets to brighten the season, and the department will even help with ideas "to make it simple and special."
Residents can sign up through the town website to be matched with a senior or couple.

Those who sign up will receive information from the department, as well as ideas about the recipient's interests and favorite items to help participants make their basket extra special.
Baskets must be dropped off to Human Services, located at 77 Main Street in New Canaan, by Dec. 12, 2025.

The department's hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
"Your kindness and thoughtfulness will help remind our seniors that they are valued and remembered this season," the town website reads.
