New York Rangers Honor Teddy Balkind
The Rangers hung a Teddy Balkind No. 5 jersey on their bench and wore Balkind jerseys during warmups before their game Wednesday night.

NEW CANAAN, CT —Before their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night, the New York Rangers honored Teddy Balkind, the New Canaan teenager who died on Jan. 6 after sustaining an injury in a high school hockey game.
The Rangers hung a No. 5 Balkind jersey on their bench and tweeted out a photo with the words "all our love." The team also wore No. 5 Rangers jerseys with "Balkind" embroidered on the back during warmups.
Balkind's St. Luke's teammates and coaches attended the game and took a group photo on the ice after one of the most thrilling Rangers games this season.

Down 3-1 in the second period, the Rangers scored five unanswered goals to capture the win. New York is now 26-10 and in first place in the Metropolitan Division.
This was the Rangers' first game at home since the fatal accident which occurred at Brunswick School in Greenwich two weeks ago.

Since then, the greater hockey community has shown support to both schools and the Balkind family. Recently, the Boston Bruins honored Balkind in a pregame ceremony.
