Police Seek Public's Help for Mailbox Hit-and-Run

Wilton Police are investigating an incident that occurred on Sunday in which a black Range Rover crashed into a mailbox, left the scene and was later seen in New Canaan.

Police said the Range Rover hit the mailbox at 27 Deforest Ln. in Wilton at 12:15 a.m. on Feb. 7. Police said the vehicle was later seen with heavy front-end damage on South Bald Hill Road and North Wilton Road in New Canaan.

The driver of the vehicle was described by police as 5-foot-10 with dark curly hair. The passenger was described as six feet tall with long, shaggy dark hair. Both looked to be in their late teens or early 20s.
