NEW CANAAN, CT — Starting Monday, the Ponus Ridge Bridge will be closed to all traffic from north of the Greenley Road intersection until December, according to town officials.

According to the town's Facebook page, a detour will be in place during the lengthy closure. Drivers can follow Greenley Road, West Road and Dans Highway to reach their destination.

"Stay safe on the road and remember to plan your alternate route accordingly," the post reads.

Town officials announced in June a portion of the bridge over Collins Pond would be closed for a number of months during a lengthy rehabilitation project. The bridge was originally built in 1957.

Further information about the project is available here and on the town website.
