Portion of New Canaan's Waveny Park to Receive a Facelift
"The Cornfields" in the southeast corner is slated to be transformed into a new destination.
NEW CANAAN, CT — The Waveny Park Conservancy is planning to clean up an area nicknamed "The Cornfields" at the park and turn it into a new destination, reports NewCanaanite.com.
Located in the southeast corner of the sprawling park, the area has been a bit of an eyesore for years, due to overgrown invasive grass and dredged material, writes the news website's Michael Dinan.
The area will be more of a meadow when the clean up is completed, and the conservancy is seeking donations to help with that and four other projects the group has planned.
