Road Work Scheduled To Take Place On 4 New Canaan Streets: Town

The town is scheduled to cape seal the following streets in New Canaan this week, and drivers are asked to avoid each road if possible.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Road work is scheduled to take place on four New Canaan streets this week, and drivers are asked to avoid each road if possible.

According to a list of road construction updates available on the town website, New Canaan's annual road resurfacing and cracksealing projects are set to continue Tuesday, weather permitting.

Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., during which the town will be cape sealing the following roads in New Canaan:

  • Sheriden Road
  • Briscoe Road
  • Valley Road (Silvermine Road to Ferris Hill Road)
  • Bayberry Road

According to the town, the roads have received a chip seal with PASS Oil during the first round of work and will then receive a second coat of micro-thin overlay Tuesday, weather dependent.

The material takes a minimum of 20 minutes to dry to allow passage of vehicles, and all drivers are asked to avoid each road if possible.
