Some In New Canaan Had No Internet 10 Days After Tropical Storm
Ten days after the storm hit the area, some residents with Altice's Optimum service reportedly still did not have access to the web.
NEW CANAAN, CT — Ten days after Tropical Storm Isaias knocked down trees, poles and wires in New Canaan and the region, some residents still did not have access to the internet through their Optimum service by Altice, writes the New Canaan Advertiser.
Power has been restored to virtually all of Eversource's more than 8,400 customers in town, but the internet outage continued to plague an unknown number of New Canaan residents.
Altice said it expected to have internet service restored by sometime on Friday, according to the publication. In the meantime, temporary internet hotspots were set up in town to assist residents in getting onto the internet.

"We know how important your Optimum service is to you," Altice wrote on its website. "Tropical Storm Isaias was one of the most powerful storms to strike the Northeast in years and our crews have been working around the clock to repair damage and restore your service as power returns. We appreciate your patience and will be providing a credit for the time that your Optimum service was not available when power was restored. There is no need to request this credit, we will simply apply it to your account in the next several weeks."
