Taste Of New Canaan Stroll 2024 To Raise Money For Local Food Pantry

The event consists of a choice of three self-guided walking tours and offers signature bites from some of New Canaan's finest eateries.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The annual Taste of New Canaan Stroll to raise money for the local food pantry returns Aug. 22 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

According to a news release provided by Rock Paper Scissors Custom Events, who produced the event, the Taste of New Canaan Stroll consists of a choice of three self-guided walking tours and is a fun way to explore New Canaan.

The taste tour offers signature bites from some of New Canaan's finest eateries. Family Fiesta is a shorter walking tour for little legs, and the *Wine Trail takes participants to restaurants and stores so enjoy a summery pour. Many people combine two tours for a full-on foodie experience.

In 2023, over $5,600 was raised for the New Canaan Food Pantry and 250 "strollers" enjoyed the evening. This year it is sponsored by Walter Stewart's Market, a family owned and operated market, offering the very best products and service since 1907.

Collect your wristband and map from 5 p.m. at Stewart's Spirits. There is a 2.5-hour window for you to complete the tour. Check in is no later than 7:30 p.m. as it finishes at 8 p.m. sharp.


Taste Tour Tix (12 stops)

A signature taste of some of New Canaan's best eateries. Stops include Baldanza at The Adirondack Store, Blackbird, Chef Prasad, Fjord Fish Market, Plum Plums, Sole, The Spice and Tea Exchange, Gates Restaurant, Locali, The White Buffalo and Pesca Peruvian.


Family Fiesta Tix (11 stops)

Visit New Canaan kid friendly places. Stops include The Playhouse (Cinema Lab), Tequila Mockingbird, Barvida, Press Burger, Fjord Fish Market, Gates Restaurant, and the New Canaan Butcher Shop.


Wine Trail Tix* (7 Stops)

Visit a combination of stores and restaurants who will be handing out delicious wine samples for this event. *Guests 21 years of age or older purchasing the Wine Trail must provide valid identification. Stops include Benefit, The Playhouse (Cinema Lab), Dolce, Locali, Francos Wine and Stewart’s Spirits.


The food pantry is asked to supply a list of essential items, and from the money raised, these will be provided at cost by Walter Stewart's Market. That way they receive the goods they truly need.

Tickets are restricted, so those interested are asked to purchase them in advance to avoid disappointment; tickets can be purchased here.
