Taste Of New Canaan Stroll Raises $6,000 For Food Pantry
The downtown New Canaan event was attended by nearly 250 strollers looking to support local businesses.
NEW CANAAN, CT — The 2021 Taste of New Canaan Stroll held Aug. 25 in the downtown area raised nearly $6,000 for the New Canaan Food Pantry.
The event, co-sponsored by William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty's New Canaan brokerage, the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce and Walter Stewart's Market, was attended by nearly 250 strollers looking to support local businesses.
According to a news release, the event spanned downtown New Canaan, allowing guests the ability to spend time sampling foods and drinks at 25 different stores and restaurants. The stroll included three different tours with an option for a self-guided tour, perfect for anyone looking to enjoy the best of what's offered in town.

All proceeds from the event go toward supporting the local food pantry in its efforts to support and give back to those in need.
"I am extremely proud and honored to be a part of this community," Carolyn Fugere, manager of William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty New Canaan brokerage, said in a news release. "Coming together to support a great cause and generating such positive results has been a very rewarding experience for everyone involved, and I want to thank all of our volunteers and those who supported this event."

The event marks the tenth year the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce has hosted a Taste Tour of New Canaan. What started out as residents bringing their own food from their pantries to help the New Canaan Food Pantry has now turned into a New Canaan staple.
