Unlocked Cars Entered Overnight in Driveways Near Merritt Exit 37
Four vehicles parked at two homes not far from Exit 37 on the Merritt were entered sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.

The owners of four vehicles parked in driveways overnight Friday to Saturday found that the vehicles had been entered, with glove boxes and consoles rummaged through. Small amounts of money kept in the vehicles were taken.
The vehicles were all parked in two driveways not far from Exit 37, either on South Avenue or just off of it, New Canaan police said.
In one driveway, where a Jeep Wrangler and Hyundai Santa Fe were parked, the cars were entered sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and 6:45 a.m. Saturday. A total of about $5 inloose change was taken from one of the vehicles. The owners saw footprints in the snow near the vehicles.

In the other driveway, two other vehicles were entered — a Toyota FJ Cruiser and a Ford Explorer. A $10 bill was taken from one of the vehicles sometime between 5:45 p.m. Friday and 10:15 a.m. Saturday.
New Canaan police believe the same person or persons committed both crimes.
