Water Infrastructure Work To Begin In New Canaan, May Impact Traffic: Aquarion

Work is scheduled to begin soon in New Canaan and expected be completed by December, according to Aquarion Water Company.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Aquarion Water Company is scheduled to perform essential work on water infrastructure in New Canaan early next month that is expected to last the rest of the year, and local traffic may be impacted.

According to a news release provided by Aquarion, the company will perform essential work on water infrastructure in town necessary to ensure continued system reliability and water quality.

Aquarion's contractor is scheduled to begin constructing a tank chlorine boosting facility adjacent to the company's existing water tank at 671 South Avenue in Waveny Park. A new small, stand-alone building will contain chlorination treatment equipment.

Work is scheduled to start May 5 and expected to be completed by December, according to Aquarion.

Normal construction working hours will be between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. East Haven-based Pat Munger Construction Company, Inc. will serve as the treatment project's general contractor, according to Aquarion.

"We greatly appreciate residents' patience as we complete this important project," Mike Hiltz, Aquarion's manager of project delivery, engineering and planning, said in a news release. "We will work closely with our customers, neighbors, contractors and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions during construction."
