Water Infrastructure Work Scheduled To Take Place In New Canaan
A water main replacement project is scheduled to begin next week in New Canaan and could result in minor traffic delays.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A water main replacement project is scheduled to begin Monday in New Canaan and is expected to cause minor traffic delays in some areas of town.
According to a news release, the Aquarion Water Company project is scheduled to take place on Whitney Avenue and Leslie Lane.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of July. Final paving will then be scheduled in coordination with the town.

The project, which will replace approximately 885 feet of water main, is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion's water distribution system and to ensure the highest quality water, according to the company.
The infrastructure upgrades will also help to reduce leaks and water main breaks that can cause service interruptions.

"We greatly appreciate residents' patience during this project," Justin Xenelis, Aquarion's manager of utility programs, said in a news release. "We will work closely with our customers, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions."
Due to construction, customers should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during the working hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Westport-based A.J. Penna & Son Excavating will be serving as the contractor for the water main replacement project.
