Weather Cancellations Tuesday in New Canaan, Darien, Norwalk, Westport

Snow and difficult driving conditions have caused cancellations of some events and activities on Tuesday around Connecticut. Here are some from this area (links go to Web pages where announcements are posted, otherwise the information is from the WFSB-TV cancellations Web page):

DARIEN

• Darien Library closed early at 5 p.m.
• Planning & Zoning Commission meeting at 8 p.m.: cancelled (from an email sent by the Darien Planning & Zoning Department: “All agenda items will be put on the agenda of a Special Meeting to be held on Tuesday March 17, 2015 at 8pm. in room 119 of Town Hall. The three public hearing matters will be immediately continued to that date.”)

NEW CANAAN

• Congregational Church of New Canaan afternoon programs were cancelled.
• St. Aloysius Church classes are cancelled.

NORWALK

• Norwalk Community College: Closes at 5 p.m.
• St. Joseph Church: no religious education classes on Tuesday

WESTPORT

• Assumption Church: no religious education on Tuesday
• Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (a school): no third shift
• Westport Board of Education meeting: postponed to Thursday, March 5
• Westport-Weston Family Y (announcement on Facebook page): “Notice: Our Family YMCA’s After School kids will be picked up at 6 pm from the Bedford Family Center this evening, instead of their usual Saugatuck Elementary School location, due to the forecast of snow later today. Questions? Call Meg George at 203-226-8981. We’ll keep you posted about any other scheduling changes to YMCA programs and activities as this latest storm develops.”
