Woman Reports Theft of Checks Totaling $11,000

A 74-year-old New Canaan woman reported the theft of four checks, totaling $11,000, from her checkbook on Friday, Jan. 11.

According to police, the woman, who lives on St. John Place, said the checks were taken between Dec. 19 and Jan. 2.

“She believes she knows who is responsible, so we’re looking into it,” Sgt. Carol Ogrinc said. “We have a suspect.”
