Cops, Community Partners, Give Away School Supplies, Host Event That Included Music, Food, Haircuts
With the successful event underway barely an hour, the line was still around the block, with hundreds of families having already been served
NEW HAVEN, CT — At the Hill North police substation on Hallock Street late Thursday afternoon, the vibe was all about back-to-school.
The New Haven Police Department and community partners provided loads of school supplies, plus there was food from Caliente Deli, Key Foods, and Chef Chrissey Experience, music, and haircuts.
The event, which began at 4 p.m., already had a long line. And, an hour in, hundreds had already been served, and according to police, there was "still a line around the block."
