New Haven Woman Killed In Car Versus Pedestrian Crash Friday Night Identified: NHPD

The driver told cops he was "traveling southbound on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard, when a female was suddenly in front of his vehicle:" NHPD.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Last Friday night, just after 10 p.m., police were called to Ella T. Grasso Boulevard and Judson Avenue on a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.

When cops got there, they found the pedestrian, a woman, in the right southbound travel lane on Grasso "suffering from apparent injuries," police said at the time.

The woman died as a result of her injuries, police later noted. She was not immediately identified.

According to a news release from police Saturday, the driver told investigators he was "traveling southbound on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard, when a female was suddenly in front of his vehicle."

Police said at the time it was "unknown where the pedestrian entered the roadway. "

After hitting Franklin, the driver "stopped his vehicle to help render aid," police said.
