UPDATED: Davis Street Magnet School Locked Down After 'Statements Made By Student:' PD
At 10:20 a.m. Thursday, New Haven police said the Davis Street Magnet School in Westville was locked down. An hour later, it was lifted.

NEW HAVEN, CT — UPDATE: At 11:20 a.m., an hour after it was enacted, a lockdown at a Westville magnet school has been lifted, police said.
"The lockdown has been lifted, normal school operations have resumed."

At 10:20 a.m., Thursday, New Haven police said the Davis Street Magnet School was placed in lockdown.
In a post to "X," police said the lockdown was done as a "precaution following statements made by a student."

Police said in the post that all students and staff are safe. Police also noted that they expect the lockdown at the school, an Academy for Arts & Design, to be "temporary to minimize school disruption."
