Yale New Haven Hospital Sees Surge In Patients Following Holiday
A Yale New Haven Hospital spokesperson said that "patient volume is very high right now," with respiratory illnesses driving that surge.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A Yale New Haven Hospital confirmed for Patch Thursday that it's seen a surge in patients following the holiday break.
"Our patient volume is very high right now," hospital spokesperson Mark Dantonio said, adding the increase is "not unusual due to holidays and family gatherings."
Dantonio noted that respiratory illnesses are driving that surge.

"As we manage through respiratory virus season, we continue to provide exceptional care to all of our patients," he said. But added that people who "don’t need to go to the Emergency Room" should utilize YNHH's Primary Care, Urgent Care and walk-in centers. It's noted that people experiencing trouble breathing should go to the ER.
